Ryan has a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Vermont and is a Rostered Psychotherapist. He utilizes a strengths-based, anti-oppressive approach and believes that the client is the expert about their own life. Ryan works as a support on their healing journey. Ryan grounds his practice in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative therapy. Ryan reserves one day a week for outdoor sessions and draws upon nature, community, and connectedness. Ryan maintains a trauma informed approach, developing safe, understanding, and egalitarian relationships and he strives to practice cultural humility as a white male with many privileges. In Ryan’s free time he can be found fixing things, sewing, knitting, cooking, and/or enjoying the woods of Vermont, skiing, hiking, biking, climbing, camping or hammocking.
